One of the questions that came up during our recent happy hour event with and was, “Should I wait to freeze my eggs for the cost to go down and the technology to improve?” 🤔💭
Our Reproductive Endocrinologist and Chief Scientific Officer, Nataki Douglas, MD, PHD provided her insight that the benefits of waiting in most circumstances won’t outweigh the benefits of freezing when you’re at a younger age!
Freezing eggs at a younger age (ideally in your 20s to early 30s) is recommended because it yields a higher quantity and better quality of eggs, which significantly increasing the chances of a successful pregnancy later.
🥚Don’t let this discourage you if you’re older than 35. If you aren’t ready to pursue parenthood right now, freezing your eggs can still help make it easier for you down the line.
