Friends, we are excited to share some more details about our keynote speaker for our Spring Benefit on May 6: Peter Wehner!

Peter Wehner is an essayist, author, and political thinker who writes on politics, faith, and culture. A contributing writer for The New York Times and The Atlantic, he previously served in the White House, including as a senior speechwriter for George W. Bush. His work explores how faith, community, and public responsibility shape a flourishing society.

You can teach from the comfort of your home, and—simply as an English speaker—you will be a great encouragement to our immigrant students who are determined to learn and open further opportunities for themselves and their families!

What: ESL teachers needed
Where: Online! We meet via Zoom
When: 1 teacher needed on Mondays 7-8pm / 2 teachers needed on Wednesdays 7-8pm

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and our volunteers are SO very special to us! We hosted our Volunteer Appreciation Social on April 7th for our Manhattan teachers, and it was a wonderful time of connection with a delicious Dominican spread.

Volunteers: You are such a huge part of what makes the Open Door mission's cogs turn. You freely, passionately give so much to your students, both in time and heart. Because of you, our students are able to learn English and are better equipped at work and to serve their families. We couldn't do it with you! THANK YOU!!!!
