As a nation, the United States has made huge strides when it comes to eradicating the threat of Mental Health. While some of the efforts have not been in vain, there are some underlying symptoms that will make matters worse unless we address them πŸ™‚

Starting with the most important, the prevalence of Mental Health Illnesses in Youth who have no access to Quality Care. While developed cities are seeing these rates dropping, the areas in the outskirts are badly affected by a lack of access to quality treatment. Due to Covid, more and more people have migrated out of the city so it's safe to say that the government will need to start focusing on these areas which do not have the required resources to tackle this issue πŸ‘

Adults are also affected by Mental Health and Covid further exaggerated that issue. As we can see, around 24.7% of Adults complained about a lack of quality treatment while every 1 in 3 American Adults had a Mental Health Illness in 2019.

Think about that for a second, nearly 50 Million Adults had a Mental Illness in 2019. That was one year before the Pandemic happened. Now think for a second where that number lies in a Post-Pandemic World. πŸ€”

A common misconception noted among Couples opting for Couples Therapy is that their relationship is on the verge of Collapsing. But none of that is true. There was a time when going to Therapy meant you were unstable. However, in recent years, that notion has shifted to one where Therapy is seen as a process that people can use to strengthen their relationships and improve life. πŸ™‚

This article by the NY Times shares key insights into why Couples Therapy isn't just for couples whose relationships are a mess, rather the onus is on those Couples who want to self-reflect and understand each other better. πŸ™

Therapy doesn’t always mean a relationship is at its breaking point. Many couples are seeking to address difficult issues before conflict arises.
