try this modification for any hip—but especially the arthritic hip—to increase space and mobility in the hip joint using traction + internal/external rotation. when working with someone who has arthritis in their hip, be sure to work within a range that is accessible to them so as to not irritate their hip.

this workshop focuses on scoliosis, with an emphasis on recognizing + working with common scoliosis patterns. through the study of the spinal curves, students will go beyond the condition itself and learn how to assess the body to identify underlying muscular imbalances.

develop the ability to observe spinal curves (even subtle ones), pelvic and lower limb rotation, rib cage alignment, scapular positioning, shoulder organization, and breathing patterns.

through guided partner work, you will practice hands on assessment, identify asymmetries and compensations, and learn how to translate these findings into effective, individualized programming. the workshop also focuses on simple, practical adjustments to pilates exercises to support better alignment and restore muscular balance.

this is an in-person, highly interactive workshop combining lecture with extensive practical application.

⚡️understanding hypermobility in the pilates client w/ rachel feinerman!

commonly misunderstood + underdiagnosed, hypermobility is more than just flexible joints. hypermobility can affect tendons, ligaments, fascia sheaths throughout the body, and the nervous, digestive, and other systems. it can present as both extremely “flexible” and extremely “tight”. this workshop seeks to introduce students to the basic science of hypermobility, the spectrum of hypermobility presentation, and to exercises specifically designed for hypermobilty as well as how to appropriately modify and cue pilates exercises to be safe and effective. this workshop is IN-PERSON ONLY.
