This Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember those who lost their lives due to anti-trans violence and honor the resilience of survivors. As NYSNA nurses and healthcare professionals, today is a reminder that the work to deliver safe and equitable care is far from over. We remain committed to ensure every patient who needs it can access safe, quality, gender-affirming healthcare.

Moneyfiore says they can’t afford safe staffing or add hospital beds, but they can afford to double CEO Dr. Philip Ozuah's pay in just a few years 🤔 Make it make sense.

Hospital administrators must protect nurses! Last week was a tragic reminder of what happens when hospital administrators continue to ignore nurses' calls for workplace violence prevention, including functional weapons detection systems at every hospital entrance. Mount Sinai NYSNA nurses spoke to Pix11 saying, “We saw this coming. We’ve been telling the administration we’re not safe. Our patients aren’t safe.

NYSNA members are always ready to fight for our patients! Earlier today, nurses and allies rallied on the steps of City Hall and testified at a City Council oversight hearing on the state of nursing. Nurses urged lawmakers to support them in their demand that NYC private sector hospitals invest in safe patient care rather than executive pay and risky speculation on artificial intelligence.

Many thanks to City Council Hospitals Committee Chair and fellow nurse, Mercedes Narcisse, for listening to the nurses!

Nurses like Goodness agree: When hospitals prioritize safety and quality care, it makes a difference in their patients' lives. That's why today NYSNA nurses will rally on the steps of City Hall and testify at a City Council oversight hearing on the state of nursing. Show your support for nurses in the comments!

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center nurses and allies came together this morning to speak out for a fair contract!

Amidst looming federal healthcare cuts, nurses are calling on Wyckoff Heights management and the city’s private sector hospitals to do their part to protect New York patients.

Next, nurses are taking their concerns from the bedside to the City Hall at the State of Nursing hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 12pm. See you then!

Yesterday afternoon, Mount Sinai Hospital nurses gathered to speak out about the urgent need for a fair contract that protects patient care and the nurses who deliver it. Nurses have been meeting for contract negotiations with Mount Sinai administrators for two months, including about workplace safety and violence prevention, and administrators have not put forward a single proposal.

Later that evening, there was an active shooter in and near the main entrance of the Mount Sinai emergency department who threaten to shoot up the hospital. Nurses are calling on hospital administrators to answer their urgent contract proposals and take immediate action to protect nurses and better secure our hospital entrances.
