We’re excited to welcome Daniel Gomez, MD, MBA, as the new Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone!

Dr. Gomez is a leading physician-scientist in radiation oncology, with specialized expertise in treating oligometastatic cancers, a complex form of stage IV disease that requires close collaboration across multiple specialties. His work has largely focused on lung cancer and the role of radiation therapy in oligometastatic disease, and he has led or co-led numerous clinical trials and major national studies that have helped shape today’s standards of care in thoracic oncology.

In his new role, Dr. Gomez will guide multidisciplinary teams of physicians and researchers as they advance innovative research and deliver highly personalized radiation therapy, tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s clinical history, imaging, and molecular profile.

“I am very honored to join NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center,” Dr. Gomez says. “There is an incredible amount of energy and enthusiasm throughout the medical center, which is inspiring in the mission to improve cancer care for our patients.”
