Benefits of Hiring Traveling Nurses for Caregiving

Traveling nurses are nursing experts that are deployed from staffing agencies, rather than in-house with a medical institution. They are ideal for caregiving needs because of the following reasons:

A. They can be deployed for a contract of a limited time frame. Caregiving can become long term, but still limited.

B. Most of them have specialized medical skills, and, thus, can be called upon to fill such positions on short notice.

C. An institution can reduce costs associated with human resources by hiring a traveling nurse out of an agency. The upkeep is generally maintained by the agency.

When you’re taking care of somebody else, it is a must that you’re able to take good care of yourself too. You need all the strength you need when you’re a caregiver, so you also need to keep in shape.

Here are three exercises that you can do:

1. Take a walk for a set amount of time.

Why You Should Learn CPR: It Saves Lives

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), heart disease is the leading cause of mortality in the United States. It claims the lives of over 600,000 people every year.

With heart disease on the rise, learning CPR can help save lives. When it is properly and immediately performed following a cardiac arrest, CPR can significantly improve a person’s chance of survival.

Why You Should Learn CPR: Prevent Brain Death

Did you know? Brain death occurs 4 to 6 minutes after the heart stops beating.

CPR effectively keeps the blood flowing, providing oxygen to the brain and other vital organs. Doing this can give the patient a better chance for a full recovery. Studies show that a person in cardiac arrest who receives CPR before emergency medical services arrive is twice as likely to be alive a month later as someone who did not receive CPR.
