Our ECE kids were so excited for story time! Thank you to our Guest Reader, Melissa, and her wonderful reading of Strega Nona. We welcomed this opportunity to boost the children's literacy skills, and they even got to take copies of Strega Nona home with them. 📚🧸

We want to thank Dr. Lisa Scott-McKenzie, Commissioner of NYC Aging, for visiting our Hamilton-Madison House’s City Hall Older Adult Center! Our older adults were delighted by her kind words and warm presence. We look forward to continuing our partnership with NYC Aging, especially as more older New Yorkers are looking to ease isolation, stay active, and connect with culturally and linguistically appropriate services.

Our very own Chef Danny Cheng participated in NYC Aging’s Plant-forward Cook-off last week! You may know him as the head chef at our City Hall Older Adult Center, providing close to 3000 nutritious meals monthly.

For the competition, he whipped up a delicious Chinese vegetarian stew. His family were there to cheer him on, as well as the HMH team!

In honor of the Week of the Young Child (4/13-4/17), we are inviting YOU to be a Guest Reader for our students!

You can sign up to read a book to the class as a part of our month-long "A Book a Day" initiative. 📖

**The best part?** The story doesn't end in the classroom. The books will be sent home with the children so they can build their home libraries. To thank you for your time, your name will be listed on the book each child gets to keep.

RSVPs will close on March 31. Scan the QR code or visit the link in our bio. Happy reading! 🧡

This week, Congresswoman Grace Meng visited our Supportive Housing site in her district and spoke with the staff and residents.

We provide housing for our neighbors with severe and persistent mental illness, so that they may live independently and with dignity. Our Queens site features bilingual staff and a Korean outpatient clinic.

The support of our local representatives is crucial to addressing the needs of our residents. Thank you to the Congresswoman for her visit!

Our older adults put on performances, participated in tea ceremonies, and enjoyed festive treats. Together, we welcomed the year of the Fire Horse, which brings with it bold ambition and fiery passion.
