Three years later and we zhuzhed this beauty with a couple rounds of cheek fillers, around the chin and smile line fillers as well as three times a year dysport (Botox alternative that is my personal fave). I love before and afters with a few years between like this one. The process is slow and steady and for most we just maintain with the smallest bits of filler!

I love my tuesdays working from home. Started with some exercise, then some work with .gottlieb laughing together (she reminded me this time last year there was much more crying!), calling in some prescriptions, diagnosing from txt messages (which medically legally you should never do but I can’t say no to friends and family!), color coding kids calendars, at home botox appts, made my own fave smoothie…

Medicine is so incredible in that you can always try new things and adjust your schedule. Something I value so much as a working mom and a person! Dermatology brings me so much joy but I couldn’t do 5 days of the same thing all the time. I get to teach, learn, experiment and keep myself interested and interesting. Enjoying what I do allows me to care more deeply and remain fresh on busy office days! Elmhurst tomorrow, office on thurs!! Ready to go!

Sad the end of the summer is coming? At least you can look forward to getting your Fraxel 1927 and clearing sun spots and discoloration!

This patient reminded me how awesome her results were last fall and thanks to her use of sunscreen and sun protective clothing/hat, she is still this clear! 🎉

I have mentored and trained dermatology residents pro bono for the past 10 years on my own free time.

I have connected medical students with opportunities to help them get into dermatology residency.

I have had countless doctors and nurses shadow me for free. Anyone who knows me, can attest to how much I value comradeship in medicine.

I’ve been called by all types of healthcare providers for help and I drop what I’m doing to see if I can help and I ask for nothing.

I love having colleagues in dermatology and other fields to reach out to when I’m unsure. We work together to provide the best care to patients.

I am a colleague and a supporter of others.

Bullying is despicable especially one dermatologist to his colleague. Trashing someone across multiple platforms of social media isn’t “speaking truths” and is never the kind of doctor I would ever want to be. Honesty is different than putting someone else down for a difference of opinion. How’s that for truth?

Rolled out of bed like this…not!

I have done lip, temple, cheek, under eye and chin hyaluronic acid fillers, dysport tox in my full face always and sometimes my neck and I do fractionated lasers a few times a year for skin texture and pigmentation.

I believe in a good quality vitamin C like isdin or Skinceuticals, prescription retinoids like tretinoin and inexpensive acid pads (using exuviance gentle clarifying with polyhydroxy acids currently). I don’t believe in fancy face washes, moisturizers and overpriced creams with no true science or data behind them.

There’s no shame in having a few thoughtful cosmetic tweaks if you are want to look your best. As a cosmetic derm, I’m not looking to change your face and I don’t believe in fixing every little wrinkle.

My father was a brilliant sculptor and cardiologist. When I wanted to go into art as a career, he advised me medicine may be a more rewarding, stable career while art is sometimes better as a hobby. He was right and I’m so grateful I can paint and work as a derm ❤️

This change took 2 sessions and well placed Restylane Defyne and Lyft filler in the chin and smile lines. And a bunch of dysport in the chin to reduce the dimpling (see second pic). Close up pics at the end.

Love matching the right patient with the right laser and settings! LaseMD is similar to a light Fraxel 1927 just what this patient needed! Improved skin texture and discoloration without major pain or downtime ✔️

Oh hey there handsome guy with a chin! Getting this doctor wedding ready…

We debulked (maybe there’s a better word but I like it) the jowls and submentum with Agnes RF, did some Sculptra in the cheeks and multiple syringes of filler in the chin and jawline.

His lips were untouched but now supported by tissue around them so they appear fuller! Love this result!

When I’m not staring at patients’ faces, I’m analyzing faces on the subway and street and looking at shadows in paintings. I love a beautiful portrait and figuring out what draws me to it. I take that and use it in my office to make natural improvements to my patients faces.
