NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NEGRO BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’ CLUB AND THE BROOKLYN CLUB JOINS
“WHEN WE ALL VOTE” ENDORSING VOTER PARTICIPATION
IN THE 2024 GENERAL ELECTION
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK - The Brooklyn Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. (The Brooklyn Club, NANBPWC, Inc.) Inc. urges all citizens to realize of the importance of participating in the 2024 General Election, perhaps the most pivotal election in a lifetime. With about 90 days until the 2024 General Election, some issues on the ballot this year such as reproductive rights, environmental justice, student loan forgiveness, and prospective Supreme Court judicial selections are crucial topics impacting everyday life.
“The NANBPWC, Inc. and its local district organization, The Brooklyn Club, continue to support the national voter education and registration mobilization campaign, “WHEN WE ALL” https://whenweallvote.org/takeaction/," said Barbara Biggs-Glover, NANBPWC, Inc. First Vice President and The Brooklyn Club President. “While our organization does not and will not instruct any citizen how to vote, it is imperative that all citizens are encouraged to exercise their right to vote. NANBPWC, Inc. districts are charged with disseminating the necessary information to our citizens need to exercise their rights to vote in all elections.”
Since May and July 2021, the NANBPWC, Inc. has put forth the following resolutions:
RESOLUTION #1; TITLE: 2021 Civic Engagement Advocacy;
Be it Resolved The Northeast District, NANBPWC, Inc. proposes that the NANBPWC, Inc. mandate civic engagement advocacy in all Districts; to continue Voter Education, Voter Registration and enabling individuals to get to the polls on Election Day; and encourage voter participation efforts through collaborations with various faith-based organizations, agencies, businesses, various community clubs and organizations in these United States Of America.
RESOLUTION #5-SUBJECT/TOPIC: Voter Suppression;
Be it Resolved that the NANBPWC, Inc. propose and mandate to go on record against voter suppression. As a non-partisan organization, it will encourage participation through collaborative effort with various civic groups, private entities, agencies, and businesses throughout the United States of America.
The national goal is to register 500,000 eligible voters and to get five million voters to the polls this year. You can make it happen! This is a call to action! It’s time to make good trouble again!
