3 years ago my best bud and my son’s Godfather, Harry Lorusso, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a rare, aggressive brain tumor. It was absolutely devastating. Since then I have seen him display more strength, love and grace through adversity than I have ever witnessed from anyone. He took the news in stride and dedicated himself to beating this horrible disease. He has since married the love of his life, had a beautiful child, is even more successful career-wise and is in the best physical/mental shape of his life. He played college quarterback so that is saying something. His incredible wife Dana has matched all of his strengths with elegance and selflessness while continuing to excel in every aspect of her life. Not to mention she is a perfect mother.
In 2 weeks on May 1, Harry is running the Pittsburgh Marathon and raising money for the charitable foundation he founded, The Outlier Fund. It supports research for Glioblastoma and those people battling it. Our group of close childhood friends is running the Half Marathon to celebrate 3 years of Harry being cancer-free.
