What does and doesn’t your MRI tell you?
👉🏼Your MRI will give you a snapshot of what is happening inside your body at a given moment in time…
🚫What your MRI won’t tell you is what you did to get here and what you need to now do in order to reach your goals.
✅A good physical therapist / coach should be able to help you with:
1️⃣Understanding your current capacities and your most recent levels of fitness
2️⃣Gradually exposing you to and preparing your body for the demands of your goal physical activities
3️⃣Managing your intensities, volume, and recovery so that you stay within your current capacities and have positive adaptations with your training program
4️⃣Teaching you how to pivot and make modifications to your training when pain or injury arise
5️⃣Keeping you moving during flare-ups and set-backs so that you stay in the game and continue to move forward
🚨Note: An MRI may be valuable if you present with certain red flags that call for its medical necessity
👋🏼If you don’t have any red flags and pain and injury is standing in the way of what you want to do…
🫱🏻🫲🏼Work with a good physical therapist or coach first.
