Taking care of your body after 50 is like restoring an old-school ride.

I used to be like a sleek new muscle car, but now that I'm in my 50s, my body is more like a classic car that's been around the block a few times.

I've had my fair share of accidents and breakdowns, and I've learned I can't take my health for granted anymore. I've got to be more mindful of my health indicators, like my blood pressure and fitness.

Just like a classic car needs extra maintenance, your body needs some extra care and attention as you get older.

Following a diet you hate to achieve a result you are unable to maintain, is the exact reason many people find themselves in the same position year in and out.

You need to consume a healthy diet that supports your goals while including your favorite foods.

Even if those favorite foods aren’t “the healthiest” and do so without feeling guilty.

Being deprived won’t lead to long term sustainability.

Getting back on track with your fitness after 40? Here are 5 habits that will add rocket fuel to your progress.

Plan your workouts: You should always have a clear idea of what you are going to do before you even step foot inside the gym.

Plan your meals: If you’re serious about this and you have time constraints like work/kids/sports etc, spend an hour or two at the weekend to prep your meals for the week. This will make it much easier to stay on track.

Sleep: 7+ hours sleep every single night is the minimum I recommend to people. Get on it. Your sleep is stupidly important.

Track Your Calories: Like prepping your meals, tracking your calories is the most accurate way to start seeing the results you deserve.
