Thank You for Making This Holiday Season Brighter 🧸

This holiday season, Life Equip Group proudly partnered with My Black Is Beautiful on their annual Teddy Bear Drive, and together we were able to spread comfort and joy where it mattered most.

Because of the generosity of our community, the teddy bears collected were donated to the Kings County Hospital Pediatric Department, bringing smiles, warmth, and reassurance to children during the holidays.

A heartfelt thank you to Joi ( ), creator of the My Black Is Beautiful Series, for inviting us to be part of this beautiful initiative. Every teddy bear represented love, care, and a reminder to these children that they are seen and supported.

To everyone who donated, shared, and supported—thank you for helping us make a meaningful impact this season.

If you know anything about Life Equip Group, then you know that young people are both our passion and purpose. We always say, “they are our future,” but the truth is the future is now. Every investment we make in them, every opportunity we create, and every space we give them to shine matters today.

Today our CEO/Founder of was invited to participate in one of the programs health and wellness fair and this is what she had to say about her experience.“ Today, I had the honor of meeting a real-life superhero at least in my eyes Mr. Williams, the Principal over a Department of Education program called the LYFE Program.

Why do I call him a superhero? Because this program holds a special place in my heart. When I was a young mother in high school, a similar program made it possible for me to continue my education while caring for my child. It wasn’t called LYFE back then I can’t quite recall the name but it gave me hope, support, and the opportunity to keep going when the odds were stacked against me.

For years, I’ve dreamed of reconnecting with this type of program, and today that dream became a reality. I’m beyond excited about the opportunity to collaborate in creating pathways for young women to continue their education, empower their futures, and pursue their goals fearlessly.

I’m deeply grateful that spaces like this still exist spaces that remind young mothers that their future is still bright, no matter what decisions or detours life brings their way.

The Life Equip Group in collaboration with The Brown Girls Learn Scholarship Fund is hosting our first BGLSF Empowerment Weekend, July 25th–27th, celebrates “The Power of One: Bridging Divides, Breaking Down Barriers, and Building Communities from Generation to Generation.” This impactful weekend features inspiring events designed to uplift, educate, and unite women and girls of all ages.

Sponsord by The Tea & Tiaras Party themed BE-U-TIFUL will empower girls ages 6–8, while Juniors ages 8–12 will explore confidence and sisterhood in their own dynamic space.

This experience will encourage age-appropriate activities led by our awesome co-hosts this year, London Rayne & Chaunice Anderson.

The party blends elegance and fun, featuring activities like creating personalized tiaras, crafting affirmation cards, and sharing gratitude in a “tea talk circle.” With uplifting messages woven into the decor and games, the event fosters confidence, self-love, and camaraderie, leaving each girl feeling inspired to shine authentically while supporting her peers. A perfect blend of elegance, empowerment, and connection!

Are you passionate about education, empowerment, and making a lasting impact? The Brown Girls Learn Scholarship Fund is seeking dedicated individuals to join our committees and help us uplift and support young women of color as they pursue their academic dreams.

The mission of BGLSF is to encourage teenage mothers of African American, Hispanic, and Native descent living in communities with limited economic resources to pursue their desired educational goals and continued professional and personal growth and development by providing access to economic resources.

thelifeequipgroup was incorporated in 2017 and was officially made a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2019. In total, we have been in existence for 8 years, wow! Our founder can’t believe that the dream she had to create a safe space with resources to help the next generation of youth and young adults would have made it this far.

Our founder and current board members are looking for people passionate about giving back to join our non-profit board and help shape our organization’s future!

Alyssa C. Abernathy has serviced many populations receiving numerous training and certification for Mental Health First Aid Responder, Su***de Prevention, HIV /AIDS and many more. Alyssa C.
