Thank you to the New York City Council Committee on Mental Health and Substance Use and Chair Tiffany Cabán for hosting an important hearing on how New York connects people to mental health care.

ICL’s Senior Vice President of Care Management Laura Savino spoke about why expanding Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT) matters. Nearly 700 New Yorkers are currently waiting for this life-saving support that helps people stabilize, stay housed, and avoid cycling through crisis systems.

She also highlighted how ICL’s STEPS program helps reduce those waitlists by supporting people who are ready to transition from IMT to lower levels of care. When step-down programs expand, IMT teams can reach more people who urgently need help.

We’re grateful to the Council for prioritizing these solutions and look forward to seeing them put into action. 💛

Creative financing is advancing real housing outcomes in New York City.

We’re proud to share a new Crain's New York Business op-ed by ICL President & CEO Jody Rudin and Rick Gropper of Camber Property Group that proves the value of the city’s Affordable Housing Services (AHS) program.

Through a partnership between ICL, the NYC Department of Social Services, and Camber, AHS made it possible to transform a vacant building into The Atlantic in East New York, now home to 183 families and individuals who have left shelter for good.

With thousands of voucher holders still unable to secure housing, scaling models like AHS can help move more New Yorkers into stable, deeply affordable homes faster.

Congratulations to Rebecca Gillman Crimmins, ICL’s Senior Vice President of Real Estate, on being named to City and State NY's 2026 Who’s Who in Affordable Housing! 🎉

Since joining ICL in 2021, Rebecca has expanded our development pipeline from 100 units to more than 1,000 while strengthening leasing and asset management to support long-term residency. ICL now provides housing for over 2,500 New Yorkers, including 183 new units at The Atlantic for people exiting shelter.

We’re proud to see this important recognition on her impact in New York City!

We went to Albany with 200+ supportive housing advocates to call on Governor Kathy Hochul and the NY State Legislature to fully fund in the final state budget.

Residents in our I/DD program at Canarsie Residence are getting ready for Valentine’s Day with a hands-on clay activity, creating thoughtful gifts for their loved ones! Activities like this support creativity, connection, and skill-building through person-centered learning.

Living on the streets is dangerous, especially in extreme weather like we’ve experienced lately, and encampments are not a humane or lasting solution.
