Dr. Gabriel Ferreira and his lovely wife Michele recently attended The Glaucoma Foundation Gala - - an event dedicated to raising awareness and support for those affected by glaucoma.

At North Manhattan Eye Center, this mission is deeply personal to our work. We believe that awareness matters, early detection matters, and access to advanced glaucoma care can make a life-changing difference.

From expanded hours at our temporary New Rochelle location to breaking ground on a permanent Westchester office, this year has been about increasing access to exceptional care—closer to home.

At the same time, Dr. Gabriel Ferreira has been collaborating internationally, traveling to Panama, and sharing insights as a trusted voice in ophthalmic innovation and education.

Why does that matter for our patients? Because every advancement, collaboration, and conversation ultimately strengthens the care we deliver—right here.

New Rochelle… something exciting is taking shape.

While we’ve been serving patients from our temporary space on select days, construction is now underway on our permanent New Rochelle location — a space designed to elevate the patient experience and expand the care we’re able to offer.

Here’s a first look inside the blank canvas that will soon become a state-of-the-art home for NMEC in Westchester. We can’t wait to share more as the vision comes to life.

He is one of the first American surgeons to perform this surgery, a milestone that reflects his commitment to pushing innovation forward and advancing the future of patient care.
