The New Jewish Home had a wonderful presence at the AJAS Annual Conference in San Francisco this week, joining colleagues from across the country to celebrate leadership, innovation, and excellence in aging services.
Our President & CEO and Association of Jewish Aging Services Board Member Dr. Jeffrey Farber had the honor of presenting national awards to two extraordinary members of The New Jewish Home:
⨠Lashima Goshine, named Young Executive of the Year, embodies the future of our field. From high school intern to Director of SkillSpringās Train & Earn program, her journey is a testament to purpose-driven leadership. Lashimaās dedication to improving the lives of older adultsāand those who care for themācontinues to uplift everyone around her. She leads with heart, mentors generously, and does it all while embracing one of her most meaningful roles: being a mother to her daughter, Adira.
⨠Josefina Fanduiz, honored as Humanitarian of the Year, represents the very soul of service. After a career as a CNA devoted to our residents and patients, Josefina returned just days after retiring to volunteer full-time in our post-acute program as an interpreter. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering positivity define what it means to give selflessly.
We were also proud to see our Manhattan Administrator, Sandra Mundy, co-present āEmpowering Leaders, Empowering Care: Building Culture at The New Jewish HomeāManhattanā alongside Susan Ryan, CEO of AgingIN.
Congratulations to our honorees and to all of The New Jewish Home leaders who continue to set the standard for our field.
