We never imagined this day would come. At our core we thought we'd reside here forever. The energy, the people, the innovation. Access to what seems like anything at our fingertips- how divine!
I moved to the city to challenge myself, to prove my independence, to be an individual. I came here to learn from a culture-packed city with differing views and experiences. After 12 years here, I've gained a lifetime of knowledge and wisdom, incredible friends, a wonderful husband and perfect (biased!) son.
There has been so much change since March 2020. This year we were presented with a different opportunity which seemed to be perfectly packaged for us. So we took it.
I've been weepy for days knowing we're leaving. Lots of emotions- denial/excitement, sadness/elation to embark on a new adventure, but also just plain anger at change.
But I'm confident this decision is what's best for us in the season. Although I feel like I've lost an appendage 💪🏻, I know this city will always be a part of us. I wish her healing, and know we will be back often. We LOVE you NYC. And HELLO Florida!
