Please!! Let’s help our friend Bobby help out our sister from Germany!!!!!

On May 12, 2023, a madman conducted a pre-planned attack on police and firefighters in a suburb of Düsseldorf, Germany. I am friends with a firefighter from there, who visited Billy’s firehouse after reading about him online. So there is a personal connection to this sad story.
The foundation is going to make a donation to these severely burned firefighters and police officers.
I am asking you to join us.
Below is photo of Sabrina Zieren, my friend. She is very close to one of the severely burned FFs and has provided details of his fight. Link to the story:

It’s a sad day for the department as we lost one of the best instructors to COVID 19. May you Rest In Peace Bey

The Department is mourning the loss of Emergency Medical Technician Idris Bey, 60, from COVID-19. EMT Bey was a 27-year veteran of EMS, a responder to the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center, and was assigned to the FDNY EMS Bureau of Training since 2002. At the Academy at Fort Totten, EMT Bey was a CFR Instructor and taught emergency medical care to his fellow EMTs and Firefighters.

“During his extraordinary career, EMT Bey responded to countless calls for help in Brooklyn, and then took his experience and dedication to our academy, where he was responsible for the lifesaving training received by thousands of FDNY members. Every New Yorker owes him a debt of gratitude for the expert education he provided our EMTs and Firefighters,” said Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro. “FDNY is known as the best Fire Department in the world, and our prehospital emergency medical care is second to none. Those facts are thanks to incredible people like Idris Bey, who dedicated their lives to the safety and training of our members.”

A resident of Queens, EMT Bey began his career assigned to Station 35 in Williamsburg in 1993. After nine years in Brooklyn, he was assigned to the EMS Training Academy at Fort Totten where he was a kind, beloved, veteran instructor for nearly two decades. He is survived by his four children.

EMT Bey is the 8th member of the Department to die from COVID-19. Seven members, including EMT Bey, have been announced publicly. One member’s family has requested anonymity and the Department will respect those wishes.

“He was the heart of the firehouse. He always had a good word to say, was always willing to teach and share his knowledge and experience, and he was always laughing. He set an example for everybody and we all followed. He was my Lieutenant and I was his Captain, and I looked up to him. I respected what he did. Obviously he will be sorely missed,” says FDNY Captain Thomas McHugh, Squad 41, remembering Lieutenant Brian J. Sullivan. Lieutenant Sullivan suffered a fatal heart attack on Saturday, August 10th at his home in Monroe, NY, after responding to a kitchen fire in a Bronx apartment during his 24-hour tour of duty. He is the 1,153rd member of the FDNY to die as a result of injuries sustained in the line-of-duty. He leaves behind his wife Irene, and two daughter Nicole, 22, and Samantha, 17.
……
The FDNY Foundation joins the FDNY in mourning the line of duty death of Lieutenant Brian J. Sullivan. Donations to benefit the children of Lieutenant Sullivan can be made by visiting www.fdnyfoundation.org/donate/ and selecting “Lt. Brian Sullivan’s Children’s Education Fund” from the drop-down menu.
