Our Story
Martha S Jacobi, PhD is a Lutheran pastor and licensed clinical social worker with a transdisciplinary Pastoral Psychotherapy practice. Her specializations include: trauma & spirituality; bereavment/grief; creativity & performance enhancement; family issues. She is also a dancer and musician.
Martha is a pioneer in the use of psychophysiological treatment approaches, especially Brainspotting, within congregational settings of pastoral care and counseling--the subject of her STM thesis and a current book project. Her publications include "Using EMDR with Religious and Spiritually Attuned Clients" in EMDR Solutions II (Robin Shapiro, ed.), "Psychophysiolgical Therapy" in The Concise Dictionary of Pastoral Care and Counseling (Glenn H. Asquith, Jr. ed.), "Smelling Remembrance" in Sensing Spirit (Jennifer Baldwin, ed.), and with co-author Monika Baumann, “Brainspotting mit Kindern und Jugendlichen” in Trauma (15 Jg.
