With regret, I inform you of the passing of Florence "Dolly" Hagan.

(Family written obituary) Florence Hofer Hagan, lovingly known to everyone as “Dolly”, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve, 2025. At 84 years old she was still very much at the center of her family’s orbit- a role she cherished every day of her life.

Born January 11, 1941, in Bayside, Queens, to Martha Hofer and Thomas Lang, Dolly grew up one of six siblings: Thomas ("Brother"), Martha ("Sissy"), Emma ("Tootsie"), Jeannie, and Maureen. They stayed close through every phase of life, rarely missing each other's milestones or their children's or grandchildren's. She always said she couldn't imagine a better time to have grown up, and she carried that warmth into the family she built.

She married Francis “Frank” Hagan on May 5, 1962, and together they made their home in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx. In a small apartment that somehow always felt big enough, they raised four sons, Frank, Michael, Sean, and Joseph. It became the setting for decades of birthdays, holidays, and the steady coming and going of family and friends, where bagpipes were simply part of the background noise. Her mother-in-law, Catherine “Cassie” Hagan, whom she looked up to and regarded dearly, lived upstairs for a time and was an integral part of the family. It was home in the truest sense and remained hers for the rest of her life.

Dolly worked as a school matron at St. Barnabas High School and was later inducted into its Inaugural Hall of Fame Class. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Barnabas Church, and she showed her faith quietly and steadfastly through how she lived.

She was not a quiet observer. Dolly ran commentary on everything with sharp, quick humor and noticed it all. She remembered every birthday, every milestone, every detail. That same attentiveness came with an unwavering optimism. She led with hope, even when she didn’t have to. Summers meant the Jersey Shore- rented houses in Belmar with her family for decades, forging traditions that carried forward into the next generations, and later, trips to Lake George with her siblings, nieces, and nephews.

She was at the helm of Christmas for years, famously so, and she left everyone with a deep love for the holidays. Her door was always open. Big gatherings happened for birthdays, holidays, grandkids' milestones- any excuse to get everyone together. She ordered thoughtful, personalized gifts from catalogs until the very end, including her own grandma “merch” because she was proud of the title and not shy about it. She welcomed every new person who entered the family as if they had always belonged.

She is survived by her four sons: Francis Jr. (Halina), Michael (Nadia), Sean (Eileen), and Joseph (Margherita); her 16 grandchildren: Cathy, Nicole, Shannon (Chris), Michael, Thomas, Casey, Michelle, Frankie, Brianna, Joey, Erin, Sean, Tara, Lily, Madeline, and Emma; and her two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Declan, children of Shannon and Chris Beihl. She is also survived by her sisters Jean and Tootsie and an extended family that could fill a small church—which it will.

Above all, Dolly leaves behind a legacy of closeness. She was deeply proud of her family and made sure everyone knew it, publicly and privately, never missing a chance to say it or show it, and maintaining deep, personal relationships with each of the people she loved and who loved her in return.

With regret, I inform you of the passing of Wayne Keeney.

(excerpted Obituary courtesy of R. Chumney/GreenwichTime) Wayne Keeney, a Marine, a former detective, prosecutor, defense attorney and state magistrate has died. He was 76.

Known as a no-nonsense defense attorney, Keeney spent decades practicing law in Connecticut courtrooms before serving as a family support magistrate and in other state-appointed roles.

Keeney was raised in the Bronx and began working as a New York Police officer when he was 20 years old, following in the footsteps of his detective father. He later moved to Florida where he served a detective and was assigned to a special drug task force.

Keeney eventually moved back home and earned a law degree at New York Law School before embarking across the country to San Diego to begin his legal career. He initially served as a defense investigator and then took a job as a prosecutor.

Keeney’s career was interrupted about 15 years ago when he suffered an 18-month bout with non-alcoholic hepatitis that nearly proved fatal. He previously told the Greenwich Times that he believed the illness was linked to his training to be a U.S. Marine at Camp Lejeune in the late 1960s.

He eventually managed to recover after undergoing an emergency liver transplant operation and was reinstated to the bar in 2010. He then quickly returned to representing clients.

“I feel like I have a new lease on life,” Keeney said at the time. “Once I was back in the courthouse, the energy here makes me completely forget any physical disabilities I ever had.”

The funeral arrangements are as follows: the Wake will be held on Sunday (12/21) at Schuyler Hill from 3-7pm; and the Funeral Mass will be Monday (12/22) at 10am at the Stanwich Church.

My deepest condolences to the family. May Wayne Rest in Peace. Thank you for your Service to our Country and our City.

With regret, I inform you of the passing of Jerry Meade.

(Family written obituary) Gerald “Jerry” Meade, born on May 14, 1937, in the Bronx to Dorthea and Joseph Meade. A proud New Yorker, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Gerald lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and a heart full of generosity.

For many years, Gerald worked as an engraver at the American Bank Note Company, a profession he took great pride in. On September 11, 1965, he married the love of his life, Rosa DiFolco, also from the Bronx. This year, they joyfully celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, a remarkable milestone that reflected a lifetime of partnership, devotion, and enduring love.

Together, they raised two children, Susan (Anthony) and Gerald (Denise), who were the lights of his life. His legacy continues through his six beloved grandchildren — Lauren (Matthew), Anthony (Caroline), Matthew, Justin, Emma, and Megan — and his cherished twin great-granddaughters, Isabella and Madelynn.

Family was everything to Gerald. He found his greatest happiness simply being surrounded by those he loved. He was his grandchildren’s biggest supporter, never missing a hockey, baseball, or volleyball game. One of his greatest joys was watching his great-granddaughters play T-ball, cheering them on with the same enthusiasm and pride he offered to every generation of his family.

A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Gerald was the steady, loving center of his family. He would do anything for those he loved and was always there when needed — never asking for anything in return. His constant smile, gentle presence, and boundless kindness touched everyone who knew him.
