WBEC Metro NY and Greater DMV was proud to attend the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) Women’s History Month Networking Event yesterday and join a powerful gathering of leaders, partners, and women entrepreneurs.

The insights shared throughout the event reinforced the importance of access, connection, and intentional support in helping women-owned businesses grow and thrive. Spaces like this help strengthen the ecosystem around women entrepreneurs by creating opportunities for visibility, collaboration, and momentum.

We were also glad to see WBEs from our community in attendance, representing the strength, innovation, and impact of women-owned businesses across our region.

To round out Women’s History Month, we’re reflecting on the energy, insight, and connection shared at the March 20 WBEC Greater DMV Women MEAN Business Summit.

Thank you to all of the women business enterprises who joined us and helped make the day so impactful. One of the clearest messages from the Summit came during the morning Launch to Legacy panel: “Women business owners need more than inspiration. They need access to insight, trusted relationships, practical resources, and rooms where real experience is shared honestly. That is where momentum starts.”

That momentum showed up not only in the conversations throughout the day, but also in how the women CEOs in the room were encouraged to see one another. As panelist Nicole Cober Johnson, founder of the BOW Collective, shared, “There are over 100 women in this room. I hope you do not leave without seeing the person sitting next to you, someone you do not know, as a potential partner in the future.”

Her message was an important reminder that this community is more than a network. It is an economic ecosystem of women business owners with shared interests, real expertise, and the capacity to scale together.

We are also grateful to our Champion Circle sponsors, alliance partners, and supporters for helping create space where WBEs can learn how to strengthen their operations and sustainability, increase visibility for their products and services, and connect to opportunities that support their business growth.

Now we look ahead.
