Last Year I set Out to do 3 Pull-Ups (UPDATE 10/25- 2/26)
In february I put up this video https://youtube.com/shorts/nZsVc5c56I4 (which has since gone viral 8 million views).
To be honest, I put up the video as the end of my journey. I was doing a calistenics program and during the program I got sick, had emergency surgeries, complications and a lot of setbacks . During my illness and recoveries I lost a lot of muscle and strength and continued to try as best I could.
I released the video at what I thought was "the end" to just show how far I'd gotten (leg lifts and body weight holds/swings)... I had no idea the vieo would blow up and inspire so many who said they want to follow the journey.
So I've decided to push forward. This updated video is to address some of the feedback I'd gotten
1. I have fat storage disease
2. My goal is not to lose weight but to gain stregth
3. I do other strength building exercises like punships, dips, core, presses, rows etc.
4. I weigh 200 lbs the pull-up bar was installed by by father on a foundation wall, and it can hold him, so its not that big of a deal that it can also hold me
5. I am not "waiting for some ideal time" I started where I was, how I was, no excuses, no procrastination
6. I wear the clothes I feel comfortable working out in, I don't have hangups about my body. I love and accept it the way it is and am happy to be alive.
7. I like functional fitness with emphasis on body weight exercises and mobility. I like calisthenics.
8. I'm still working towards the pull-ups and am gettng stronger each week - Now I'm up to scap-pull-ups and climbing
9. I have resistance bands but I’m 200 lbs & even the 150lbs claims are probably false as they don’t hold enough of my weight to be worth using
I’m continuing the journey. Continue yours too
