Serves more than 12 million people in New York City; on Long Island; in Rockland and Westchester counties; at the U.S. We respond to approximately seven emergencies and disasters a day across the region—home fires, floods, building collapses—and more, providing shelter, food, clothing and emotional support at no cost to those in need. We also collect blood, teach lifesaving skills, and support military members, veterans and their families.

Huge gratitude to Norma (pictured here, 2nd from left) and all the Greater New York team members who have deployed to support the American Red Cross response to Super Typhoon Sinlaku.

The storm has left Tinian, Saipan, and surrounding islands facing severe damage—destroyed structures, blocked roads, and widespread outages to power, water, and communications.

More than 100 Red Cross disaster workers from across the U.S. are on the ground or en route, coordinating with local and federal partners to support sheltering and relief efforts. ⛑️
