Removal of Brown Spots on the Face 

Brown spots on the face can be due to a person’s genetics and sun exposure. Contrary to common belief, there are no effective creams to solve this problem. We usually employ a pigment laser, the Q-Switched Alexandrite, and for thicker lessons we may also add light electrocautery, which we did in this patient.

Non-Surgical Eyelid Rejuvenation 

Many patients complain of hollowed eyes or a tired look. This happens when the cheek descends downwards and fat pads protrude out, creating a hollow area between the eyelid and cheek. This is what gives the tired look. An easy way to correct this problem is to place a judicious amount of filler to correct this line of demarcation between the cheek and eyelid skin, restoring a more balanced contour. In this gentleman, we used two syringes of filler, one per lower eyelid, with pictures taken immediately after. You must see an experienced injector as I often correct bad filler jobs performed in this area.

Pearly pe**le papules are commonly found growths present on the p***s of many males. As they can be confused with ge***al warts, many men are bothered by their cosmetic appearance. Laser Tattoo Removal 

The process of tattooing involves the placement of various ink colors into the dermis. The process of tattoo removal involves breaking down those ink particles through the beam of a laser so the body’s immune system cells can clear awaythe smaller ink debris. Laser tattoo removal is 100% painless after the administration of a numbing injection. Immediately after treating the area, it looks frosty white, indicating a proper laser reaction. Generally, multiple sessions are required, but the exact number depends on the color of the tattoo, the amount of tattoo ink present, the location of the tattoo, the person’s skin color, as well as the depth of placement of the tattoo ink.

Fixing Radiesse Complications 

An unfortunate side fact of Radiesse injections (a robust filler used for volume augmentation) is that it can form lumps or nodules when improperly injected or done in the wrong anatomical area, such as the forehead. This patient experienced this and it was very disfiguring for her. We were able to completely dissolve these Radiesse nodules and restore her natural contour back with a solution called sodium thiosulfate. This technique works to dissolve Radiesse but does take multiple sessions.

Laser Treatment of Port Wine Stains

Port wine stains are vascular birthmarks composed of blood vessels. They can appear as pink flat birthmarks in young children, but left untreated as an adult, they can become painful and develop vascular lesions called blebs. Our vascular lasers, in particular the VBeam laser, have revolutionized the treatment of such birthmarks. Here you can see that as the energy gets absorbed by the network of blood vessels, the area turns purple. This reaction shows the partial destruction of some of the blood vessels.
