So many women are conditioned to do — to hold it all, fix it all, anticipate everyone’s needs before their own. 👀

But what does that constant caretaking do to the nervous system?🤯

In Lia’s Regulate interview on the In the Margins Substack, we explore how living in chronic “doing mode” keeps women overextended and disconnected from their bodies. 🥹

This conversation invites you to soften, to notice, and to remember that your worth isn’t measured by how much you carry.💓

If you’re tired of always being the strong one… this interview is for you!

“My therapist gave me one of the biggest compliments I could ever ask for at the end of the year, and I think at its crux, it’s why I continue to love me, even in the face of the periodic bad or ugly. 👀

“You’ve met life on life’s terms, each and every day,” she said. “This is the warrior’s path.” ✨

I’m not sure if several years ago I would’ve understood how much of an accomplishment it is to “meet life on life’s terms,” but now I do. ☀️

Hopping on the 2016 bandwagon to remember what the year had for me (hard to believe that was 10 years ago!). 💓

My little girl was born at the top of 2016 so pregnancy and a new baby stands out the most, but so does a busy pre-schooler, the writing of my first book, and the start of my podcast so I could be home with my daughter while still sharing my message! ✨

I also remember how quickly I wanted to move my body again and to include my little one in the fun.
I remember the brands I worked with as I shared my world of health, wellness, and motherhood. Shout out and

I look at these pics and it feels like another life all together. My old NYC apartment, my babies so small, my state of mind quite different than today (I mean, it was 10 years ago!). ✨

But also…I see a really important quality that has never wavered and shines through even today …ALWAYS the desire to move, to smile, and to have love around me. 🥰

It’s nice to see that the most important things never change!🌙

Question for you: what’s your word of the year? 🤔

I LOVE choosing a word at the top of the year, a word that encompasses everything I’ve left behind and everything I long for most. 💓

This word helps me return to center if I veer off or have a decision to make. The word becomes my guide.

This year, my word is ALIGNMENT. ✨

In 2025, I had the pieces of the puzzle, but I wasn’t always able to put them together. This year, I want to experience a life where my values, desires, habits, and relationships all mirror a sense of goodness and love that I’ve dreamed of.

Even when there’s change, a calm and peaceful version of myself stands at the center. 🌱

If my feelings and fears get wobbly, I see them for what they are: just feelings and fear.

No need to panic or spiral.

This girl stays ALIGNED in 2026.

I’m sharing more about what I shedded last year and what I’m running towards this year in the year of the horse. Read all of this in my latest Substack:

The Year of the Fire Horse…what are you running towards? 🐎

Wow, last week’s Substack post on the nervous system really struck something in all of us! It ended up being my most-read, most-shared, and most-engaged post yet! I felt so connected reading all of your messages and reflections.

If you haven’t read it yet, I’d love for you to check it out. I’ll be writing more on this topic because it feels so relevant and needed right now. Plus I’m even bringing in guest writers to share their perspectives on all things nervous system.

I think we’re all waking up to how deeply regulation impacts our relationships, our peace, and our sense of self. Can you relate?
So much more coming. 💛
