At-home LED masks can offer benefits, but most haven’t been tested for the specific number of diodes or energy output they deliver. That means you’re relying on general data about red light, not the actual device in your hands.

If you have melasma or pigmentation issues, be extra cautious: red light can make things worse. And even if you’re a good candidate, these only work if you’re consistent for months.

Remember, just because something is trending doesn’t mean it’s worth your time or your money.

In medicine, we’re taught how to treat specific conditions, but I believe we have a deeper responsibility to understand the person behind it. That means listening to your story and helping you feel understood, so I can take better care of you as a whole person, not just a list of body parts and symptoms.

Losing my sister at a young age remains one of the most painful experiences of my life, I miss her every day, but I do my best to honor her in the way I show up for and take care of my patients.

I learned that healing isn’t just about procedures or prescriptions, it’s about support, communication, and connection. This is especially true in dermatology, where what shows on the skin often reflects something happening within. ❤️

When I choose a filler, I’m not just picking from a menu, I’m studying how each one behaves under the skin. Flexibility, cohesivity, swelling potential, structural integrity... they all directly impact how natural and long-lasting your results are.

Some products mimic your skin’s own hyaluronic acid beautifully, while others are better for building strength and structure. It’s never one-size-fits-all.

Great results come from knowing exactly what’s being injected, where it’s going, and why. You should never look “filled,” just refreshed, balanced, and like the best version of you.

I see the worst sunburns in the Spring and on cloudy days. After long wint months of les exposure to UV rays, your skin is no longer acclimated to it and it’s easy to underestimate how strong the sun can be on those first longer, bright days. You’re outside more, often without sun protection and not thinking about sunscreen yet. The damage can happen quickly, and it sets the stage for long-term collagen breakdown, uneven skin tone, and even skin cancer down the road. This is the time to be especially mindful, because your skin is more vulnerable than you think.

The area from your nose to your neck ages faster than the rest of your face because it’s where you lose volume, elasticity, and collagen first. It’s also often the most neglected in skincare. 😬 The key is to treat it like under your eyes using eye cream and extra sunscreen.

A lot of people think of filler as one-size-fits-all, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Each filler has its own personality: how it behaves under the skin, how it holds its shape, how it integrates with your natural tissue. The key is understanding those differences and choosing the right formula for each area of the face. That’s where expertise matters most.

After decades of using (and even helping get FDA approval for) many of the fillers on the market, I’ve learned that the best results come not from using the most filler, but from using the right one in the right place, in the right hands. You should see the result, not the product. That’s always my goal.

Antiperspirants work by blocking sweat glands, but they need time to activate. The best time to apply is at night, when your body is cooler and sweat production is lower. That gives the ingredients time to form a seal and actually do their job.

There was a time I didn’t think twice about my hair. It was thick, full, (almost) effortless… until one day it wasn’t.

Hair shedding and thinning is more common than most women realize, especially in perimenopause and menopause, and it can feel deeply personal. But I’ve learned that it doesn’t have to be something we hide or feel ashamed of.

I now sometimes wear what I call my “play hair,” and I love it. It gives me back the volume I used to have, but more than that, it gives me confidence and a little extra something when I want it.

And if you’re going through hair shedding, I promise you there are many treatment options and ways to get through until the hair grows back. You’re not alone in this. ❤️

Struggling with smile lines? You’re not alone!

As we age, changes in the structure of our jaw and lips can make those lines more prominent. There are non-invasive treatments that can help smooth things out and restore balance, like filler or laser treatments. The key is subtlety and working with your body’s natural changes. Combine treatments for a rejuvenated look and remember sunscreen is your best friend for keeping those lines from coming back!

My Philosophy of “Aging Beautifully”

Appearance is anything but superficial. Think about the days when you feel your most beautiful. What do you love about those days, and when does that “beautiful” feeling start? What you see, whether in the mirror in front of you or in your mind’s eye, is a reflection of the natural condition of your skin combined with the effects of specific life events and stressors. The art of aesthetics is about combining the highest quality scientific breakthroughs and art to reflate, restore and rejuvenate in the most natural and holistic way.

I like to think of myself as a skin whisperer, helping to reveal and enhance beauty by identifying and addressing what’s aging it or causing it to look anything less than its healthiest and most radiant. I have developed my own medical philosophy and unique treatment programs for each patient that incorporates my reverence for the art of medicine, years of experience and deep scientific background and have deployed it to diagnose and treat my patients with amazing results, which is why I say “older is better.”
