🎨 What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy uses creative expression like painting, drawing, and sculpting to help people process emotions, reduce stress, and communicate when words feel hard to find.

For caregivers, art can be a quiet moment to breathe, reflect, and release.
For older adults, it supports memory, fine motor skills, confidence, and self-expression.

At SNAP, creative art activities show up in our caregiver groups, enrichment programs, and memory support sessions — giving families meaningful ways to connect and create together.

Sometimes healing starts with simply picking up a brush. 💛

🎨🎶💃📖 It’s Creative Arts Therapy (CAT) Week!

At SNAP, we know caregiving is more than logistics and appointments — it’s emotional, physical, and deeply personal. Creative arts therapies use art, movement, music, storytelling, and self-expression to support healing, connection, and resilience for both caregivers and older adults.

This week, we’re highlighting different creative arts therapy approaches and how they show up in our Caregiver Program every day.

Because wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all — sometimes healing looks like painting, dancing, singing, or writing your story. 💛

Follow along all week to learn more!

🎨 March Caregiver Events at SNAP

This month, SNAP is offering a series of creative programs designed to support caregivers through relaxation, self-expression, and community connection.

Join us for a Pottery Workshop with Daniella Campero, a Creative Care Café facilitated by Jackie Gatto, and an Art Therapy Workshop with Letao Ma. Each session provides an opportunity for caregivers to explore creativity, practice mindfulness, and connect with others in a supportive space.

These experiences are designed to nurture well-being, encourage reflection, and create moments of connection through the arts.

RSVP by March 11th

Multiple Sclerosis can affect movement, memory, energy, and daily routines — not just for individuals, but for families and caregivers too.

This week, we’re raising awareness and reminding our community that support matters.

SNAP offers programs, education, and connection so no one has to navigate care alone. 💙

Behind so many families, there’s a woman quietly holding everything together.

Caregiving is powerful — and it can also be overwhelming.

This International Women’s Month, we honor the daughters, wives, sisters, aunts, neighbors, and friends who show up every day with strength and love.

You deserve support too. You don’t have to do this alone. 💜

SNAP is here with programs, resources, and community for caregivers and older adults alike.

Tag a caregiver who inspires you.

This Social Work Month, we want to recognize the incredible social work team here at SNAP and the many community social workers who dedicate themselves every day to supporting individuals, caregivers, and families.

Your advocacy, empathy, and commitment help strengthen our communities and ensure people have access to the care and resources they need.

Thank you for the important work you do.

🎶 Now Playing at SNAP: Music, Community, and Connection

Today we celebrate World Music Therapy Day and the powerful role music plays in the lives of the older adults and caregivers we serve.

From sing-alongs to music & movement groups, music helps spark memories, reduce stress, and bring people together in meaningful ways.

Because sometimes the smallest melody can create the biggest moment. 💛
