Fired up from our Flash NY Health Act Teach-Ins on the picket lines with striking nurses yesterday!
It’s time to get free from bosses & insurance corporations pocketing gobs of money while denying us healthcare. The hospital bosses think they can break the nurses’ strike by sowing division & dragging out negotiations. When healthcare is tied to employment it can be weaponized against workers.

We fight back by supporting nurses on the picket line, sharing information about the NY Health Act, and organizing for a healthcare system that treats healthcare as a public good for all, not a commodity or a perk of employment that can be withheld at whim, when too sick or injured to work or when contracts end & workers strike.

Power concedes nothing without a struggle and workers & patients must unite to win - whether it’s safe staffing, fair wages, working conditions and safety or guaranteed universal healthcare for all: the / !

Striking nurses don’t have healthcare right now & need your support! Shout out to all of our doctors, nurses, med students & activists who showed out yesterday to support nurses & lead these teach-ins. Come out TODAY Friday 1/30 & TOMORROW Saturday 1/31 at 1PM to support NYSNA nurses on the picket lines and hear how the NY Health Act will make life better for workers, unions & every New Yorker!

Striking rank & file nurses have invited us to come give these NY Health Act teach-ins to discuss what it will mean for workers when healthcare is guaranteed by law and no longer pitted against wages, safe staffing or worker protections on the bargaining table.

Nurses on strike right now do not have healthcare! Their contract expired and their healthcare went away along with it, and that’s exactly why we must pass the NY Health Act - to separate care from employment, bar insurance & big pharma corporations from interfering in our care, eliminate out-of-pocket costs, medical debt & prior-authorizations, and provide healthcare for every New Yorker, no exceptions!
