Why We Do What We Do at Vertex
VERTEX Outpatient Program is an OASAS licensed drug-free program that has serviced the North Bronx / Westchester Community since 2004. VERTEX provides a wide range of services to individuals in need of non-intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment. These services include diagnostic evaluations covering substance abuse, and mental/emotional disorders. Other services are DWI assessments as well as assessments to identify the appropriate level of care. For those persons admitted into VERTEX we provide individual substance abuse counseling along with therapeutic groups such as Substance Abuse, Relapse Prevention, Anger Management, Domestic Violence, Parenting Skills, Adolescent, Family and both Men’s and Women’s support groups. VERTEX also provides referrals for detoxification, inpatient services, Vocational/Educational services, mental health evaluations and other referrals depending on individual needs. ZG

Historical Context:
Vertex LLC. was established by Zack Golder and Zoya Gornopolsky in 2004 operating as a medical model with a bio-psychosocial approach to provide outpatient chemical dependence treatment for chemically dependent individuals and/or significant others impacted by the substance abuse of another individual. Services are licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). The program provides a multi-disciplinary approach to services delivery to address total health, emotional, social, and vocational needs of client’s due to the multifaceted nature of the disease of chemical dependence. Individuals accepted into the program must either be diagnosed with substance or alcohol abuse and/or dependence. The service is a proprietary entity, directed by a Board of Directors and administered by a professional staff; it is supported entirely by client fees, third party or Insurance/Medicaid reimbursement.
