James Fowler Physical Therapy

James Fowler Physical Therapy Experience the art of healing. James Fowler Physical Therapy is an oasis in the heart of New York City.

Our practice is built around the idea that each of our clients deserves the personal attention, one-on-one treatment, and highly specialized care rarely offered by other physical therapy practices. We strive to not only solve the immediate condition of each patient, but to get to the root of the problem and ensure that the condition will not recur by educating each person about their body and movements. Our staff consists of a team of expert therapists who are all recognized as nationally certified manual therapists and strength and conditioning specialists. They are assisted by certified movement analysts who support each patient's treatment and help further patient education. Our practice is housed in a beautifully designed downtown space that allows our patients to receive state of the art care in a non-clinical environment so you can ease into recovery in a serene and non-threatening atmosphere.

Here, Julie is breaking down a patient’s running mechanics to identify inefficiencies, reduce injury risk, and improve overall performance.

Because small adjustments can make a big difference—whether your goal is to run pain-free, get faster, or simply feel stronger.

👉 Thinking about getting back into running this spring? Let’s make sure your body is ready for it.

Because you don’t have to keep pushing through pain or hoping it just goes away.

Most people wait way longer than they need to—and once they start, they wish they came in sooner.

Less pain. Better movement. More confidence in your body.
That’s what it’s all about.

👇 Be honest… how long have you been putting it off?

👉 Send this to someone who needs the push

Movement Monday 💪

Real progress happens when movement is intentional.

Here, James is guiding a patient through an exercise—not just to get it done, but to do it right. Because how you move matters just as much as moving in the first place.

It’s not about pushing through pain or chasing perfection… it’s about building strength, confidence, and trust in your body—one rep at a time.

That’s how you create results that actually last.

👉 Focus on quality over quantity today
👉 Move with purpose

As the weather gets nicer, it’s tempting to jump right back into walking, running, and workouts—but doing too much too fast is one of the biggest reasons we see injuries this time of year.

Here are 3 signs your body might be telling you to slow down:
• Pain or soreness that lasts more than a few days
• Swelling or stiffness after activity
• Pain that gets worse the more active you are

Building endurance takes time, and giving your body the chance to adapt is key to staying consistent and injury-free.

If you’re starting to notice these signs, don’t ignore them—come visit us at James Fowler Physical Therapy and we’ll help you stay active and moving safely.

Julie picked the card… and it was 3 Exercises for Runners 🏃‍♂️

If you’re getting back into running this spring, strengthening key muscles can help support endurance and reduce your risk of injury. Julie demonstrates three exercises runners can incorporate into their routine:

• Single Leg Calf Raises – Builds strength and stability through the ankle and lower leg
• Single Leg RDLs – Improves balance and strengthens the hamstrings and glutes
• Hip Airplanes – Helps develop hip stability and control

Adding exercises like these to your routine can help you move more efficiently and keep you running strong.

If running or training is starting to cause pain, **come visit us at James Fowler Physical Therapy** and our team can help you stay active and injury-free.
