I have a lot to say here, but I couldn’t have said it any better than Cenk did honestly. Give it a watch and let me know your thoughts.
Honestly, I didn’t expect any better from Jonathan Ross when he publicly defended the Proud Boys on Facebook whilst arguing on a post his sister made (years prior), stating that she would never support white supremacy or bigotry. The post has since been deleted for obvious reasons but not before the internet/media viewed and widely discussed it.
Although these people murdered by senseless gun violence are nothing alike, I am going to draw a comparison here since MAGA just doesn’t seem to get it. I know it’s ironic since TPUSA lied on me and tried to claim I celebrated his death—before realizing I also had a public platform and backing off when I publicly challenged their narrative—but my feelings about his death haven’t ever changed, so here it is.
Charlie Kirk didn’t deserve to die for his (incredibly) inflammatory actions and words, nor did Renee Good deserve to die for her VETERAN (?) wife telling this guy to go get himself some lunch either. If you’re a personal friend/family member and don’t agree, you don’t need to comment— I probably already know you’re a person devoid of humanity when it suits your needs, and that hurts my heart. No one EVER deserves to die for exercising their constitutional rights— even if you don’t like them.
Simply put, don’t tell me you’re an American who stands for our values whilst saying this was justified. If this was “justified,” then EVERY J6er who broke into the Capitol absolutely should’ve been locked up or killed, yes? You must surely support Ashli Babbitt’s death if you support this one, no?
That said— Jonathan Ross deserves to STAND TRIAL for her murder. No one should harm him or his family in any way. I will never say we need MORE violence, and I am so proud of us because for nearly a year now, we’ve been provoked and sometimes terrorized, and we haven’t harmed— or killed— anyone. That “violent left” myth has been debunked, and I hope it stays that way. I have a feeling we are reaching a tipping point in this country and it’s scary.
Americans should stand together for America— not against each other.
Nicole’s last words to her murderer were, “that’s fine, dude; I’m not mad at you.”
Jonathan’s last words after murdering Nicole in cold blood were, “fu***ng bitch.” He wasn’t upset over shooting someone, or concerned with her medical needs, but rather enraged that an LGBT white woman dared to attempt to safely flee for her life when he pointed a gun in her face.
The fact is, we are not the same, and I thank you, Jesus, for allowing my heart to remain open and kind despite so many who are delighting in this disgusting tragedy and still trying to claim they serve you. I’ll end this post with a verse I find myself returning to often this past year. I’m so glad it’s one that has stuck with me since my Awana days.
1 John 4:20 (ESV):
“If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.”
Be the change you want to see in this world. Never stop fighting for others who fight for themselves.
