We are completely student-run, from the production to the choreography to the dancing. We perform all styles of dance, and we take all levels of dancers! We do one performance showcase every semester, and everyone who auditions will be cast!

Next we have ADARA’S ORCHESIS CHOREOGRAPHY DEBUT!! Adara (she/her) is a senior at Barnard! This is her sixth Orchesis as a dancer and her first as a choreographer! She is thrilled to be bringing Astronomy to the stage as an homage to her roots growing up in Alaska, surrounded by black bears and stars. A double major in chemistry and dance, she’s usually either in a dance studio or working in a chemistry lab. When she’s not doing one of those things, you can find her in a library, at Liz’s, hanging out with friends, or walking in the park. This semester, Adara is dancing with the Barnard Dance Department, rehearsing for the MaMa project, choreographing around campus, and giving her heart to Orchesis.

Next we have a SELINABETH debut!!! The choreographer duo everyone’s been waiting for makes the pawfect match! This is Selinabeth’s third Orchy show dancing together, but this time their own vision will come to life in this wild piece “PURE/HONEY”. Both sophomores, Selin is a CS major at SEAS ( you can catch her rolling in Mudd..) and Elizabeth is a biochem & sustainable development major (you can find her making some spot-taneous reactions in the lab). Selinabeth loves to get it on at the gym, playing the piano, latin dancing, and dancing in their respective rooms at 3 am when they have an exam the next day! Get ready to be purrplexed by some Beyoncé brilliance in SELINABETH’s roaring roar-eography.

Introducing GISA!!!! This is Gina and Lisa’s first time choreographing, even though they are now both seniors! Both are ballerinas turned stem baddies: Gina is an Environmental Bio major who spends most of her time looking at microfossils under a microscope, and Lisa is a Mathematics major who lately spends a lot of time thinking about when you can shrink a circle (not joking).

Introducing… Kate!! Kate is roaring with happiness to be returning as a second-time choreographer! A sophomore at Barnard from Baltimore MD, she’s majoring in Environment and Sustainability and Human Rights . Outside of Orchesis, you can find her twirling around onstage with the MaMa Project and co-choreographing for CoLab. She loves reconnecting with nature by rollerskating in riverside park, devouring a Liz’s blueberry muffin, and ferociously consuming ungodly amounts of caffeine.

INTRODUCING… KAYLEEN is SO BACK. FINE FRESH AND FIERCE (rawr). After a slight feature in last season’s “By the Seashorechesis,”” Kayleen did not stop there. They’re rising the ranks by being their own main characters or should we say... choreographers. If we were to take a peek into an episode of their lives, theyre either dying bc of classes -med=pre-death or getting heytea. Aileen, our wonderful orchy costumer, is our solidcore/corepower goddess always on the grind and well Kayla…she’s probably choosing not to respond to your messages because she’s taking a nap! Introducing… Reese! Reese is so fierce and so thrilled to return as a choreographer for the third time! As a true orchy fan, she also serves as our orchesis producer . Outside of dance, you can find her as a Columbia junior studying sociology and ethnicity & race studies, who loves pickles and her friends (in that order). Next we have… Kira!! Kira is so thrilled to bring her fourth (and final) Orchesis creating to the stage! Kira has been in Orchesis since her first semester on campus, and has loved serving on Board as Social Chair, and now as Administrator. She is a Barnard Senior studying Poltiical Science, and loves all things elections and voting! When she’s not getting wild in rehearsal, you can find Kira in the Barnard Quad as a first-year RA, or exploring NYC looking for a really good latte. Kira can’t wait to see “It’s Raining Men” take the Roone stage ...we know it’ll leave you roaring for more!

Next up is the beautiful MEIIII!! Mei is roaring with excitement to fufill her ferocious passion of choregraphing for her beloved orchy community for the fifth time ! She is a Barnard senior majoring in Psychology and Dance (and arguably Orchesis ). If she’s not dancing, she’s a K-1st teaching assistant as P.S. 183. She spiritually resonates with RoarChesis because her name is basically “meow” if you change a letter and add another... and the real ones know her as meowlana (true story)! She knows that “Promiscuous” will be a roaring success and drive the audience WILD!

Here is the stunning charlilia!!! Charlilla is so excited to be returning as an iconic choreographic duo this semester! Charlotte and Alillia are both Barnard seniors double majoring in Dance and a STEM. When they’re not dancing for orchesis or taking dance department classes, you can find them grabbing a snack in Liz’s or yapping in the Barnard Store. They love making popcorn, enjoying baked goods, and giggling about reality tv! Charlillia loved choreographing this semester and can’t wait to return for their final choreographic masterpiece in the spring ;)

We are super excited to introduce the talented Caitlin!! Caitlin is so excited to be choreographing for Orchesis for the first time! She is a Barnard Junior studying Political Science and History. Outside of dancing Caitlin spends her time exploring all of NYC’s coffee shops, museums and restraunts! She is so excited to be giving you all the iconic Tate McRae vibes that are circling your FYP right here at Columbia with an incredibly fierce cast!

Get hyped for Savnee and Flora!!! Savnee & Flora are super excited to bring you this spicy performance! As first-time choreographers, they are giving it their all to create an unforgettable stage. Contrary to the emotional vibes from their attendance in Ghost Town last semester, they will be heating the stage with a spicy and sassy performance. Savnee is a senior studying financial engineering, and Flora is a sophomore studying CS, but together they’re just two SEAS girls who absolutely love to dance! On a usual Monday to Thursday, you might catch them locked in, doing some crazy stochastic problem or coding some random project, but at orchy, you might catch them casually slaying some hiphop dance moves. Get ready for a fun, sassy, and WASABI performance!

Now we have the beautiful and fierce Breanna and Catherine!!! PAWS UP, CLAWS OUT! Breanna and Catherine are purring with excitement to be choreographing together. This is Catherine’s first time choreographing for Orchesis and Breanna’s fourth! Catherine is a sophmore in CC majoring in Biology (pre-vet YAY!) and minoring in Dance. If you find her out on the town (campus 🥲), she’s probably either crashing out about Physics Lab, yapping about Bio Lab, or dancing to whatever song is playing in her headphones (yet somehow she can never be found locking in 🤔). Breanna is a senior (yippee) in CC majoring in English and Creative Writing. Outside of Orchesis, you can find her dancing with UnTapped or (next spring) choreographing The Varsity Show. Alternatively, you can catch Breanna working in Delivery Services at Butler, feeding her TikTok addiction, or napping way too much. Breanna and Catherine can’t wait for everyone to see their phenomenal cast be the fiercest last people on earth.
