Issue 10 of The CAI Report is now available! With contributors from China, Iran, the Czech Republic, and the United States, this issue explores how frontier AI systems are reshaping therapy, thinking, and human relationships—from AI as a “transitional object” in trauma treatment to the unsettling possibility of AI replacing psychotherapy itself.

Plus: a new Dear Dr. Danielle on navigating relationships with AI. Read the full issue on apsa.org/thecaireport.

Children absorb more than we think. In heightened climates marked by violence and uncertainty, distress may show up as sleep problems, aggression, withdrawal, or difficulty concentrating.

In a new timely piece, APsA psychoanalyst member Kerry Kelly Novick outlines how predictability, emotional availability, and community support help strengthen children’s resilience. Read the full article at https://apsa.org/how-can-we-help-our-children-in-a-climate-of-violence/.

Join us in congratulating Anna Parker on being named the winner of the 2025 Excellence in Journalism Award, presented by the APsA Committee on Public Information, for her essay "The Art in the Analyst's Room."

By positioning herself as a proxy for the patient, Parker raises thoughtful questions about the analyst's person, questions often unasked, and gives voice to common curiosities about what the consulting room may signal or obscure within the analytic encounter. The result, the panel observed, is a balanced and engaging presentation of a subtle but important feature of psychoanalytic work.
