Join us in congratulating Anna Parker on being named the winner of the 2025 Excellence in Journalism Award, presented by the APsA Committee on Public Information, for her essay "The Art in the Analyst's Room."

By positioning herself as a proxy for the patient, Parker raises thoughtful questions about the analyst's person, questions often unasked, and gives voice to common curiosities about what the consulting room may signal or obscure within the analytic encounter. The result, the panel observed, is a balanced and engaging presentation of a subtle but important feature of psychoanalytic work.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 National Meeting. Thank you to our attendees, presenters, special guests, and plenary speakers Donnel Stern and Ken Corbett for making this gathering such a memorable one.

We were excited to debut our first Dinner Dance this year! The DPE presented a somber chamber music concert by Yellow Barn, we heard an interdisciplinary conversation with neuroscientist Christof Koch, and facilitated emerging scholarship through the Research Training Program (organized by Chuck Fisher) and the poster session—along with many other meaningful moments. Swipe through for highlights from the week.

Save the date for the 2027 National Meeting in Washington, D.C., at the Mayflower Hotel, Tuesday, February 2–Friday, February 5.
