Ever notice your pain gets worse during stressful weeks? Thats not a coincidence. Your nervous system responds to emotional stress the same way it responds to physical stress. Tightening muscles and increasing pain signals.

The worse part? It’s becomes a cycle. Pain creates stress, stress makes pain worse, and you’re stuck in a loop. Acupuncture helps break the cycle by regulating your nervous system at its source.

If you feel sore after acupuncture, it’s totally normal. If you feel increased pain, that can happen too. In both instances, talk to your practitioner so the next treatment can be modified if needed. Most times the soreness goes away in a day or two.

Most people hope one session will fix everything. I get it, we want quick fixes. But the body doesn’t create abnormalities overnight and real healing takes time.

Acupuncture works cumulatively. Each session builds on the last, creating deeper shifts in your body’s natural healing response. Treatment can last from several treatments to several months. Sometimes it can take years, that’s just reality.

When I finish leg day my knees and quads are screaming 😅 So naturally, I’m giving myself some acupuncture to help with recovery.

This is what I mean when I say acupuncture isn’t just for chronic pain. It’s amazing for post-workout soreness, muscle tightness, and helping the body bounce back faster.

If you push your body hard, acupuncture can be your secret weapon for feeling better, faster. Your muscles will thank you 🌿

Recently had a patient who couldn't understand why he kept having headaches. He also had pain in his neck and shoulder, but didn't think any of it was related.

We quickly found the cause and connection. His chosen career as a chef was definitely causing his pain.

In this blog, I explain 4 of the most common muscles that can cause headaches and the repetitive movements associated with these muscles.

If you know the cause, you can recover faster.

Yes, your MRI may show a bulging disc, arthritis, or degenerative disc disease but that may not be the cause of your pain.

Imaging is good to have but as an acupuncturist, I don't fully rely on the results because pain is multifactorial.

MRI only captures anatomy. Not muscle tension, inflammation, stress levels, or how sensitive a person’s nervous system has become.

Sometimes it can’t fully explain why back pain is happening.

Because of this, pain should be managed by conservative treatments, such as acupuncture, first. If that isn't successful, more aggressive treatments should then be introduced. Not the other way around.

Discover why your MRI might not explain your back pain and how a holistic approach like acupuncture can offer relief beyond imaging results.
