There are a few things I personally avoid to protect my skin and overall skin health. Here are 5 things I would never do as a dermatologist:
1. Skip SPF—even on cloudy days. UV exposure is constant.
2. Pop a pimple. This increases inflammation, scarring, and pigment.
3. Get microblading. There are long-term risks with pigment shifts over time.
4. Walk barefoot in public spaces. This increases the risk of infections and warts.
5. Use lash serums with prostaglandins. They can cause irritation, discoloration, among other issues.
Small choices add up to long-term skin health, and prevention is always easier than correction.
