🚨 Massive Birthmark? 🚨
A 29-year-old man went from having what looked like a harmless birthmark… to one of the largest primary melanomas ever recorded.
👉 In just months, it exploded into a 22 × 25 × 7 cm ulcerated mass (over 16 lbs removed at surgery), with necrosis and spread to lymph nodes. He lost 30 lbs, developed fever, night sweats, and required palliative surgery. At first, chemotherapy failed. But with a stronger drug combo (paclitaxel, cisplatin, and temozolomide), his giant lymph node shrank from 15 cm to 6 cm, showing real regression. Reported in 2007, this remains one of the largest melanomas in medical literature.
🧪 What is melanoma?
It’s the deadliest form of skin cancer, starting in pigment cells (melanocytes). It can spread fast to lymph nodes, lungs, and brain.
💬 What shocks you more: how huge it grew, or that it actually shrank after treatment?
