🎙️ Speaker Introduction | MPS2026: Paradigm Shift

We’re excited to introduce Mohammed Uzair Bhamjee (), a Counselling Psychologist, as one of our speakers for this year’s Masters Preparation Session.

In his session, Mohammed explores the idea of the hidden curriculum of Master’s training; the lessons, expectations, and professional realities that are often experienced during training but rarely spoken about openly.

As part of this year’s Paradigm Shift theme, Mohammed invites students to look beyond the application process itself and begin reflecting on the deeper professional and personal growth that training often demands.

MPS2026 launches on Saturday, 21 March at 08h00.

University of Pretoria (UP) – Clinical, Counselling & Research Psychology (2027 Intake | Apply in 2026)

The University of Pretoria has announced application dates for their Clinical, Counselling, and Research Psychology Master’s programmes.

đź—“ Closing: 31 May 2026 @ 23h59

Each of these programmes has different selection timelines and processes, so it’s important to familiarise yourself with the relevant dates.

⚠️ Important: It is essential to carefully read the Instruction Letter for your chosen programme before submitting your application. 📢 Pairing in Progress | Masters Mentorship Network

Our team has now closed all applications and completed the verification and ranking processes. This means we are now able to begin pairing students with their mentors.

Please give us a little time as we carefully match mentees with mentors. This is a process we take seriously, and we don’t want to rush it. Kindly allow us a few days to complete the pairings before we begin sending out emails. Our goal is to finalize all pairings by early next week.

Once everything is finalized, all applicants will receive a response; whether successful or unsuccessful.

Thank you for your patience throughout this process. We’re excited to get this year’s Masters Mentorship Network underway.

UNISA (University of South Africa) – Clinical Psychology (2027 Intake | Apply in 2026)

Applications for the UNISA Clinical Psychology Master’s programme will be opening soon.

⚠️ Important: The application window for UNISA is very short, so make sure you prepare your documents well in advance. This is not an application you want to leave until the last minute.

Another important requirement to prepare for:

Applicants must submit a recent Police Clearance Certificate (no older than 6 months) obtained directly from SAPS (no third-party clearances will be accepted).

University of Johannesburg (UJ) – Clinical Psychology (2027 Intake | Apply in 2026)

Applications for the UJ Clinical Psychology Master’s programme will be opening soon.

đź—“ Closing: 28 May 2026 @ 12h00

⚠️ Important: UJ requires applicants to choose either Clinical OR Counselling Psychology — not both.

You cannot apply for both programmes, and you should not list Clinical as your 1st choice and Counselling as your 2nd choice (or vice versa). Make sure you choose the programme that aligns best with your interests and career direction. There is currently no new information about the Counselling programme at the moment - we'll update when there is.
