I understand that, as we get older, day-to-day tasks become more difficult, but home is home, and there is no need to leave it if the right support is in place.

We have had a wonderful start to 2026. Although it has been a rather chilly start to the year we have managed to get our clients out and about. Visiting cafes and playing dominoes is a lovely way to spend a chilly afternoon. The return of the regular Blue Flamingo Cafe on a Wednesday afternoon from 12.30 until 2pm at St Teresa's in Penwortham has got off to a fabulous start with everyone enjoying seeing each other again after the xmas break.
The donkeys we visit now have two new friends, the alpacas.

The Willows team is getting festive..
We are all looking forward to our annual Christmas party. Some of our clients have been hard at work creating some lovely Christmas Tree ornaments to give out.
Each client will get one to take home as a lovely, thoughtful gift.
We are so grateful for your help and can't wait to celebrate..

What a wonderful time had by all at the Blue Flamingo Cafe . The Blue Flamingo was celebrating its 4th birthday and had put on a wonderful buffet and entertainment. Some of our clients who attend the café weekly were presented with awards for their ongoing support of such a wonderful resource available to anyone wishing to attend.
Willows Home Care support the Blue Flamingo Café at St Teresa's in Penwortham on Wednesdays from 12.30 pm until 2 pm

What a wonderful day our lovely client had today. Our lovely carer Claire was able to take her client on a magical day out to Blackpool's Christmas market. Even the pesky seagulls didn't spoil the day. The sun was out and so were the smiles.

✨ Small Gestures, Big Impact! ✨
It's the little things our carers do that make the biggest difference for our Willows Home Care clients.
Our client loves to go and feed the donkeys and spend some time with them but sometimes the weather lets us down and this is not always possible.
One of our amazing carers printed and framed a photo of the donkeys for her! Now she sees her favourite animals and smiles every day. 🐴🖼️
That's the kind of personal, heartfelt care you get with Willows. We're proud of our team!

Sunflowers and Success!

We are bursting with pride for our client. A massive shout-out to our wonderful carer, Fiona, for her dedication and encouragement. Fiona noticed her client's interest and encouraged her to take part in a local sunflower competition! Thanks to Fiona's support, our client nurtured her plant every step of the way, and all that hard work paid off! We are thrilled to share that she won a Certificate of Achievement for growing the 3rd Tallest Sunflower in the competition! 🎉

❄️ Getting Ready for Winter with Willows Home Care 🧣
As the nights get darker and the weather turns colder, ensuring our clients are happy and safe is our top priority! Winter can bring unique challenges, but with a little preparation, we can make the season cozy and secure.

Here are a few ways we're focusing on client well-being as winter approaches:

Illumination and Safety: Darker evenings mean a higher risk of trips and falls. Our caregivers are extra vigilant, ensuring hallways are well-lit, and we're reminding clients (and their families!) to check that outdoor lights and walkways are clear and bright.

Warmth and Comfort: Cold weather is a serious health risk. We're making sure clients are dressed warmly (layers are key!) and that their homes are adequately heated. We help with tasks like setting thermostats, adjusting timers, and ensuring windows/doors are closed to minimize drafts.

Preventing "Winter Blues": Shorter days and less sunlight can sometimes affect mood. Our visits become even more important for providing social connection, stimulating conversation, and encouraging light exercise indoors or creative activities to keep spirits high!
