The main intention was to share ideas, transfer of knowledge, and surgical skills. We did workshops on simple and complex hip and knee replacements. We had discussions of the materials that need to be used in patients. Every case is different, and therefore, the treatment has to be customized. We also did primary hips and knee replacements. We have discussed how the surgical procedure should be done, the clinical pathways, and the processes. So that the patient satisfaction and the outcomes are good and can match any Western country in the world. There is a lot of development that can happen, and the orthopedic department of this unit at Moganzillo can be the center of excellence for complex trauma, hip and knee arthroplasty, and sports surgeries for knee and shoulder. Hello friends from Africa. I am doctor Ram Mohan Reddy working at Yashoda Hospital's high tech division, Hyderabad in India. I specialize in hips and knees replacements and complex trauma. I'll be visiting Muhimbili National Hospital, Dar es Salaam from the 25 August until 28 August at high tech hospitals Yashoda, we have performed quite a few complexity surgeries on hips and knees for patients who traveled all the way from Africa like Tanzania, Mozambique, Ghana, Ethiopia. I'll be visiting Africa especially to Tanzania to see how my patients are doing, how their mobility is, and how pain free they are.
The travel is mainly to explore and make relationships with my patients who have already visited us with my healthcare colleagues in Africa to exchange our expertise, knowledge and develop better patient care. There will also be a free medical camp wherein I'll be seeing patients mainly with hip and knee problems. There may be patients who are suffering with simple arthritis of the hip and knee.
